at the 17th International Conference on Child and Adolescent Psychopathology, September 2025.

We presented early findings from the SASH study at the 17th International Conference on Child and Adolescent Psychopathology (ICCAP2025), held at the University of Roehampton.

Maria and Gio delivered a presentation as part of the suicide prevention session, focusing on supporting young people in NHS CAMHS and crisis settings.

Their session explored:

  • Patterns of suicidal thoughts and behaviors in adolescents.
  • The delivery of solution-focused approaches in Emergency Departments and CAMHS crisis teams.
  • Training and supporting staff to implement the intervention in high-pressure clinical environments.

The presentation drew on data from over 150 young people recruited across three NHS Trusts, and highlighted the experiences of more than 40 CAMHS practitioners trained in the approach.

This was followed by a lively discussion around intervention strategies, staff support, and future directions for suicide prevention in youth mental health services.
