About the Intervention
The intervention involves a therapeutic assessment an enhanced safety plan followed by solution focused follow up sessions.
The Therapeutic Assessment takes place in the first follow-up session, approximately 1 week after the young person has attended A&E.
They will then create an enhanced safety plan with the practitioner, following a collaborative planning process.
The Solution Focused sessions focus on the young persons hopes, future, and then painting a detailed picture of what ‘better’ might look like for them.

- Enhance motivation for change
- Instill hope
- Explore possible alternatives to self-harm
