The intervention involves a therapeutic assessment an enhanced safety plan followed by solution focused follow up sessions.
The Therapeutic Assessment takes place in the first follow-up session, approximately 1 week after the young person has attended A&E.
They will then create an enhanced safety plan with the practitioner, following a collaborative planning process.
The Solution Focused sessions focus on the young persons hopes, future, and then painting a detailed picture of what ‘better’ might look like for them.
The enhanced safety plan involves inviting the young person to think of their preferred coping strategies, and trouble shoot any barriers that may get in the way.
